HD Scores:
The lower the score, the less the degree of dysplasia present. The minimum (best) score for each hip is zero and the maximum (worst) is 53, giving a range for the total of 0 to 106. Each hip is scored separately under the BVA, so within the UK scores are usually displayed as two numbers separated by a forward slash (e.g. 2/6). Europe are Letters A, B, C and D and the USA are words Excellent, Good, Fair, Borderline, Mild.
ED Scores:
Each elbow is graded from 0 – 3. The score reflects the level of normality and deformity of the elbow.
A grade of 0 would be attributed to ‘perfect’ or near-perfect elbow formation, a grade of 3 would reflect the maximum level of deformity.The highest grade awarded (right or left elbow) is used as the overall grade – i.e. a dog with one elbow graded 2 and the other graded 3 will be recorded as having an overall Elbow Grade of 3.
OCD Scores:
This is a developmental condition that occurs in rapidly growing large breed dogs typically between 6 and 9 months of age. Test results do not have a scale and only advise if is present or not in shoulders. More info:
We research future stud dogs thoroughly and ask questions about what has been produced, Epilepsy, Bloat etc. They have excellent temperaments and health screens because the majority of our homes are families so Temperament comes first every time with us. They all live within their family homes.

Merlin is a very loving and happy young boy whose tail never stops wagging, just like his retired mum's. He loves his meets and greets with people and other animals. He is a very clean boy with handsome, masculine head, good front and rear for his young age and moves very well with straight topline. He has his first show in the Spring and is co owned.
Merlin started his show career in excellent form winning his class at his first two Champ shows and being awarded Best Puppy Dog which qualified him for Crufts 2020. His third champ show as hot and humid he was not going to comply but still managed 2nd in Puppy Dog again qualifying for Crufts 2020. He is maturing into a lovely boy and has once again been let down on his new home. Hopefully he will get it soon. He has Qualified for Crufts 2021 from his class placing at Crufts 2020.
Thanks to the very efficient Crufts Judge for the Great Swiss, definitely a record, he published the Critiques in 3 days of the show being over, all very impressive.
Merlin was the baby of Post Graduate Dog class and this is what the Judge, Paul Harding wrote about Merlin with his 3rd place:
" Swisshaven's Magical Spell. Nineteen month old of good type masculine head with pleasing expression, strong neck flowing into correct shoulders, plenty of rib with correct rear angulations, well muscled throughout, moved out with ease."
Very pleased with this but knew all of what he has said but very nice to have it confirmed.
There was I worrying he was not in hard condition because of all the flooding, vomiting virus and Alabama Rott so exercising the dogs has been restricted.

Gunnar is a very loving and happy 2 year old living with his family up North and lives with his other 4 paw companion Floyd.
Gunnar has an excellent tempermanet and Health screens and will attend some shows this year and in 2022.

Rudi was a singleton born late 2020 but we are repeating this super breeding again as we want a girl. Rudi is a lovely character but there are pros and cons to having singletons. At 5 weeks old he weighed in at over 8 kilos. Now at 4 months old he weighs in at 26 kilos and teething. He makes new friends wherever he goes and is a lovely big boy. He has a great outline, moves true and lovely for only 4 months old, plenty of bone, correct markings and handsome little dude. Both Nannies in the US love him. He will attend shows in 2020 and go off to his co owner home later in 2020.
Rudi had his first Championship show mid July 2021 and qualified for Crufts in Style. 1st Puppy Dog, Best Puppy Dog, Best Dog & Best Opposite Sex. The Judge said he is lovely, super head, very bridge future all at 6 months old. Rudi is 10 months old 1st Puppy Dog, Best Puppy and Best Dog at the National Birmingham Champ show 2021 so he remains Top GSMD Puppy 2021 in the UK. Late October we did prelim x rays and they look great as always.
Rudi ends 2021 as the Top Winning GSMD Puppy in the UK.
Rudi was given 2nd Junior Dog Crufts 2022 so qualified for Crufts 2023. He is enjoying life with a foster family.
