Sadly Bear lost his battle with a brain tumour Christmas 2013 he would have been 2 in Feb 2014. His family have their lovely memories with him. RIP big boy.

Our hearts broke today as heaven needed another Angel and this time is was our Belle (Shadetree's Aida) 10 yrs 3 months old. Loud Love as many knew her, always waggy tail, happy and smily and you could do anything with her. We had to let you go baby girl just after 9am this morning. The paw prints on our hearts and those that met you will last forever and you are running free with your mum Monkey and dad Donald and our Rotties that have passed before you. Run free baby girl til we see each other again.
Belle was the best Brood Bitch to begin the Swissies in the UK with her excellent temperament and health screens. She was a fabulous mum to her babies and lovely Grandma. Along with Luca now 11.5 yrs starting with the best, solid building blocks for the breed in the UK and now over 11 yrs clean health and happy Swissies. They both did so much great PR for the breed all those years at events, Crufts in Discover Dogs and at Earls Court. We had such an incredible journey over the years, the friends we made, the babies you gave birth to I cannot thank you enough.
Thank you Cathy for our sweet Belle and her legacy lives on in her great kids and grandkids
.
We love her always and I have done this many times over my 36 yrs in Rotties but she is our first Swissy and I cannot begin to tell you how much it hurts! I cannot see the keypad very well for all my tears. RIP Baby Girl til we see each other again.

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that I let you all know, that a week ago today, 1st August 2017 early afternoon in the sunshine, we had to let our awesome, gentle, goofy, very special boy and best friend go over to wait in the Meadow by Rainbow Bridge. I cannot begin to tell you all how much it hurts, we are devastated. When you have more than a couple of dogs you they say you are not meant to have favourites. Well I am proud to say Luca was my best boy in every way and so much more. He was 2 months shy of his 12th Birthday, the oldest, longest living greatest Swissy in the UK with the best health screens and his eyes were Clear to 11 yrs old.
In all these years he never put a paw wrong. He was loved and admired by so many, Judges Frank Kane, Meg Parnell-Carpenter, Judges in Rotts Mary McPhail and Jude Brendon and many in the Bernese and other breeds that met him over the years doing his PR for the breed in the UK. Our bestest Snow Dog is waiting for us in the meadow by Rainbow Bridge and we will be with him again one day. He was a huge part of our lives, been through the horrible times and the great times and Alex has known him since he was 4 yearrs and Luca only 5 weeks old.
From the moment Margrit Burri as she was then in Switzerland first sent me his photo after he was born, he had my heart. When we fly over to see the litter at 5 weeks old and meet Mona Lisa his lovely mum and the awesome Ch. Hanibald von der Point, I saw immediately what a very special Swissy he was. I watched him and his sister Bindi playing and moving about and both so very sound at that young age. Mary and Jude were some of the first to see Luca at around 11-12 months old as we drove over to get him that hot summer when he was 10 months old. They both said how sound he was. Thank you Margrit for such a wonderful boy that we shared our lives with all these years.
All the years he and his kids were in the Discover Dogs booth at Crufts and in the November at Earls Court, so many people deep taking photos of Luca and his kids being normal and happy and goofy Swissies and with kids asleep with them. Meg Parnell-Carpenter had me and Luca in a side ring several years at Crufts show the public about showing what it entails and there was my special boy having fun, flirting with the ladies both doggy and human and having fun wagging his tail.
Loosing Luca has bought us to our knees, good thing I am a touch typist because I cannot see these words through all my tears. Not sure my heart will ever recover this loss. He leaves a great legacy in his kids and grandkids and gt grandkids and oh so many happy, funny memories and photos. Being a mum, seeing your child crying so much at loosing his brother, they were together always, made my pain that much more. Luca was my Champion in every way possible even though he never actually had the title. He was the bestest first Swissy we could ever have had. His ashes come back today and they will be made into things that we can wear close to our hearts and a beautiful Glass ornament.
Sleep tight my beautiful boy and we love you to the moon and beyond and a day wont go by that we wont think of you and miss you. Your favourite spot on the patio is empty but we will see you laying there from time to time I know and I miss you greeting us in the mornings and being my last kiss goodnight.
Swisshaven's Ganemede - Barnie
DOB: 26 Feb
Sire: Swisshaven's Dutchman
Dam: Camaro Companera v.d. Dovondolin for Swisshaven
Barnie lives with a lovely family and they adore him. He has matured into a lovely big boy and enjoys his walks and family life. He was carrying more weight than he should have been but some of that, being put on a diet, has come off but a bit more to loose.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce that due to a house fire very recently, fridge-freezer, the fire crews worked so hard and caring on Barnie but he passed gently over to Rainbow Bridge as the smoke inhalation took him. He family are heartbroken. They have the support of their family and friends at this awful time. July 2019 RIP big boy another Bright Star in the sky

Swisshaven's Gladiator - ARDAN over Rainbow Bridge
DOB:
Sire: Swisshaven's Dutchman
Dam: Camaro Companera v.d. Dovondolin for Swisshaven
Ardan is a lovely dog living with the co owner Mrs Armstrong & family in Northern Ireland. He has a lovely temperament and loves life. He has attended several shows winning 1st, Best of Breed and the Green Stars.
Ardan will remain their family pet since the co owner threw all her toys out of her pram and the Breeder will not budge from her breeding ethics and standards. Anyone can email the Breeder to find out the full story. The same applies to the Rottweiler female Mrs Armstrong has from the Breeder. Mrs Armstrong deliberately lied to the KC over the phone in March to get the Rottie in her sole ownership, the KC should always check with co owner's first but eventually Mrs Armstrong was found out and the sole ownership registration made invalid and put back to co ownership where it stays.
Sadly I was informed that Ardan died in his sleep. He went to bed with the other dogs that night, nothing wrong with him at all fit, healthy, sound. No seizures and not Bloat. He just did not wake up the next morning. This happened months ago now but Mrs Armstrong only told me on the phone a couple of weeks ago. She was too upset before she said and he was buried on their property. RIP lovely boy you are running with Grandma and Grandpa.

Dam: Shadetree's Aida
RETIRED (Over Rainbow Bridge 9 and a quarter years)
Lilly is one of Luca and Belles' daughters, she is a big female at 50 kilos and a bit taller than her mum. She likes to be the center of attention and uses her VOICE to achieve that - the words "Princess" and "Drama-Queen" could be applied to her!
She leans for cuddles like her dad Luca. She gets on with everyone and everything is happiest racing around the forest and meeting other dogs and people.

Camaro Companera v.d. Dovondolin for Swisshaven - Nya
DOB: 27 Oct 2011
Sire: INT. CH. ROEM. Slow, PLS. CROA Maxi Zgornjesavski
Dam: Amitabha Manu v.d. Dovondolin
RETIRED (Lost our NuNu before Lock Down 2020)
Nya is very loyal and always wagging her tail. She is also the boss of the pack. She was our first import from v.d. Dovondolin Kennel in the Netherlands and in Feb 2015 became a mum for the first time to 7 pups. She's a natural, a fab mum.
When we collected Nya from the Netherlands, wtih my friend Dave who did the driving, the Breeder (Miss Y Shoeber), gave us a tablet not in any veterinary packet or anything saying she had slight paw lameness and this was the last tablet and she would be fine. Dave, having been in dogs many years very experienced and knowledgeable said to me on the drive home make sure you take her to your vet which I always do. Nya was a little tentitive with that paw when my vet saw her but she was not lame at the time. I was very careful with lead exercise some off it but supervised. Sure enough soon as a couple of weeks had gone by after that last tablet she was lame again. My vet agreed I could contact a Natural Vet I knew of and his new therpay treatment. I informed Miss Shoeber every step of the way as I always do. Nya had a very serious ligament/tendon injury in the front paw in the pastern. Had she gone to any other owner she would have remained lame all her life. Thankfully being only 4.5 months old age was on her side and she had 3 treatments with the natural vet and strict cage rest, not great for a young puppy, and then months of hydratherapy swimming. Miss Schoeber sold me a lame puppy with a very serious injury and she sustained that injury in her care! Anyone else I would never have purchased a lame pup but, knowing each other for some years I thought I could trust her. She said in the future I could have a free stud as she offered nothing towards all the treatments for Nya. I would not use anything from Dovondolin again.
Nya was completely sound by around 15 months old and has never been lame since. We love her and always do right by our dogs. She has a lovely personality and that tail never stops bless her.
Sadly the bone cancer spread in her rear leg and we had to let her go over Rainbow Bridge. 8 and a quarter years old.

Martha
DOB:
Sire: Dunedain Tolkien v.d. Dovondolin for Swisshaven
Dam: Swisshaven's Samala Country Wench
Martha is a big strong female and lovely family companion first and foremost.
Martha qualified at shows for Crufts and then won her Post Grad Bitch Class 1st qualifying her for Crufts 2016. Then at shows the previous year she won her classes and a Reserve Best Bitch. She will not be shown any more as she did not really enjoy it. She was an excellent, free whelping mother to her singleton pup and went on to have two more lovely litters. Sadly tauma on her liver in operable and had to let you go.
Over in the Meadow from Rainbow Bridge waiting til we are together again.
